Instinkt describes their music as "huge soundscapes": Lively fiddles, powerful drums, groovy bass, mystic drones, happy tunes and expressive voices mixed with the sounds of ancient folk music instruments like the hurdy-gurdy, overtone flutes, Jew’s harp and viola. The group’s debut album "HUR!" was awarded no less than four awards at the 2003 Danish Music Awards Folk. Needless to say the expectations are high for their long awaited second album "GRUM", released in August 2006. The five skilled and experienced musicians of Instinkt gained international recognition in 2004 after playing a concert at the internationally acclaimed Roskilde Festival. Since then the group has been taking on the world playing major events in Scotland, Scandinavia, Germany and Canada. Their talent and international potential was made clear in 2005, when the band was awarded the unique German folkmusic award "Eisernen Eversteiner"
